Miss T’s Boudoir Testimonial

A Natural High

We at Holly Douglas & Co. believe that EVERY woman should experience a boudoir photoshoot at least once in her lifetime. We love empowering women and boosting their self-confidence through the art of boudoir photography! Of course, people expect to hear that from us, the boudoir photographers, because we do this for a living. Boudoir testimonials written by our past clients who have actually experienced a boudoir session, on the other hand, are the most convincing! For this reason, Holly Douglas & Co. proudly features a new boudoir experience testimonial blog each week.

This week's boudoir experience testimonial comes from the gorgeous Miss T., who was photographed at our luxury boudoir studio in downtown Nashville, Tennessee!

How did you hear about Holly Douglas Boudoir?

A Facebook ad for your Nurses special.

Why did you choose Holly Douglas Boudoir for your session?

I visited the website multiple times after seeing the ad on Facebook. Holly's photos and the sets for every photo was phenomenal. I filled out the consultation form, had a phone conversation with one of her team members, and that was all she wrote! My session was booked.

What made you decide to take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session?

I was in shock at first... I can't believe I said YES to someone taking raw exposed pictures of me. When I booked the session in February 2022, I had just graduated with my BSN, taken my NCLEX- RN, and it had been a rough two years with the pandemic and also working full-time as an LPN through it all. I told myself that I earned it and deserve to do this for myself. BONUS reason: This year I also celebrate my 20th dating and 15th wedding anniversary with my husband so I thought, "Why not for him too?" What could be a better gift that is unique, that keeps on giving, and doesn't fit the traditional standard of anniversary gift?

Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?

Absolutely! I remembering walking in the door as Holly opened it and thinking to myself, "What have I gotten myself into?" When I tried on the first piece of lingerie, I became a bit more nervous walking out half-naked in front of two people I didn't know. Holly & Leslie were both honest about everything I tried on.

Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?

Yes! It's a natural high. The vibe of the studio is amazing, including the help of being guided with posing, and being told you look beautiful and hot when you feel like you look so awkward.

What was your favorite part of the experience and why?

Besides viewing the actual photos at the end of the session... it would be the whole package: hair, make-up, trying on different styles of lingerie (once I threw the nerves out the window), and the studio view is amazing!

How did you feel during your session?

When I first stepped into the studio I was a nervous wreck. By the time I left, I felt like a new woman that was beautiful, flawless, and confident.

Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.

The raw, unedited images - I loved them, but I was a bit self-conscience of my body seeing it so exposed. Once I got the email saying my photos were ready (edited), I was so excited to see how amazing they turned out! It made me wish I could have kept more! At one point during hair & make-up, I remember asking Holly and Leslie, "Who am I going to show my photos too? Because this is NOT the typical coffee table photo album." Oh, boy was I wrong! I sent my link to at least 5 people after I looked through them probably 50 times in shock that it was me!

How has your relationship with your body changed since your session?

The self-confidence you gain from a boudoir session is unreal. You carry the high of beauty with you for days. I did tell several of my co-workers that I was doing this. So, I shared with them how amazing you feel stepping out of the comfort zone and the boost of confidence you gain during the sessions. I did this as an anniversary gift, so not being able to share with my husband how it made me feel and whole studio vibe was kind of disappointing. But after giving him the album, it was worth it. Seeing his reaction to the photos and him telling me, "You look beautiful, and this is the way I always see you." It has a different feel when you actually hear, "This is how I see you and you are beautiful." Right there, I learned I am my own worst enemy. All the quotes posted by Holly with #SelfLoveAffair on her page become a true statement with your session - whether it is before, during, or after.

What would you say to people who say they can't do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?

Just do it! Everyone deserves to feel the natural high you get from the whole experience, and we are never too old to play dress up and feel beautiful while doing it. It is the most amazing and unforgettable experience.

Anything else you'd like to add?

The final product. Where do I begin...I was so impressed with the quality of the book. The album - from the color of the spine, to the acrylic cover and the thickness of the pages - was worth the upgrade. Then seeing my images in hand makes you relive the feeling and experience all over. I couldn't wait to give them to my husband... the 6 week wait was hard. (I gave in about a week early!)

Thank you for sharing this boudoir experience testimonial, Miss T.!
