This week's boudoir experience testimonial comes from the gorgeous Miss T., who was photographed with her husband at our previous boudoir studio in downtown Nashville, Tennessee (before we opened our current luxury studio in East Nashville)!
Tell us about yourself?
I am a 50 year old who recently married the sweetest, funniest, kindest, sexiest man on the planet! I am a mom of two and step mom to more. I love cooking, spending time with my family, sewing and crafting and traveling.
How did you hear about Holly Douglas Boudoir?
I was initially referred to Holly's Facebook group by a friend who had a session. I was super curious about boudoir and eagerly joined the group.
Why did you choose Holly Douglas Boudoir for your session?
Holly Douglas Boudoir does not take pictures of women in lingerie. Holly and her team create art. There is not other way to describe it. The use of light, expert posing and styling creates images that are of the highest quality. I knew that she could create something beautiful for me as well, despite my body issues. And, let me tell you she is a MAGICIAN when it comes to making you become comfortable in your skin. This was my second shoot and it was a couples shoot with my husband. He knew what an incredible experience I had the first time I had a shoot with Holly and was impressed by the images. When he agreed to do this with me, I knew the outcome would be amazing.
What made you decide to take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session?
I have seen the boudoir products friends have shared from other companies. The lighting is harsh, the backgrounds are drab and the posing is cookie cutter. Just because someone is wearing lingerie in a picture does not make it boudoir. Boudoir is more than that. With Holly, everything about each image screams boudoir. The use of props (like plants to shoot through to create unique visuals in the image) the texture of the fabrics on the furniture or backdrops, the subtle but sensual lighting all work in concert to create something beautiful.
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
I think everyone is nervous before a professional photoshoot. When you know you are going to be revealing your body in sensual attire to a stranger (until you meet her and then you are friends for life) it is natural to feel like your stomach is full of butterflies. Before my first shoot, I was convinced she would take one look at me and send me home. I am not built like a model, my body has curves, lumps and bumps. This time I was less nervous, but knew that feeling would evaporate when I entered the studio. My husband is smoking hot, although he sees his body flaws when he looks in the mirror just like I do. He was nervous before we got there but I saw him relax when he met Holly. And, he is an photographer, so they bonded geeking out over the camera equiptment!
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
Holly has a natural way about her that instanttly puts you at ease. She is genuine and sassy. It feels like she can see right into your soul and know who you are and what you need to feel empowered to make the experience the best it can be for you. She chats easily with you when you arrive, is a gracious hostess and sets the mood in the studio creating a relaxing vibe.
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
My favorite part of this shoot was sharing it with my husband. Watching his face as Holly guided us through the poses was priceless. He loved seeing me in the lingerie but I believe he enjoyed feeling the sensuality in the poses with me even more.
How did you feel during your session?
The session flies by so fast that you forget you were nervous to begin with. The atmosphere in the room helps create a relaxed tone, leaving you to concentrate on the body shapes Holly asks you to create and not worry about anything else.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
When Holly shared the initial pictures with us, we were BLOWN AWAY. My husband's jaw was on the floor from the beginning. The images on the screen were erotic, soft and sensual. As each image comes up on the slide show, we could not help but be captivated by the way we looked together. It was phenomenal.
How has your relationship with your body changed since your session?
My husband and I came away from our session feeling more comfortable in our skin. We have always enjoyed seeing each other but may have been more shy about our own bodies. But, we have become more open to our own image in the mirror since seeing the amazing way we look from the objective lens Holly uses.
What would you say to people who say they can't do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?
I believe everyone, women and men, will benefit from a quality boudoir session with the team at Holly Douglas and Company. To say you deserve to see yourself as a goddess or god is empowering and uplifting. No one on this earth has a body 100% free from flaws. But, what happens in the studio is that the flaws are disguised by the practiced way you are dressed, posed and styled. You won't see them in the final product and that is what everyone deserves to see!

I wasn’t nervous about the shoot, only because I had shot with Holly before and knew she would guide me through everything.

Holly’s knowledge and direction made everything so relaxed and easy after the session started!
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
The photo reveal was definitely my favorite part! I was amazing to see what we had just created together.

Confident and relaxed.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
I couldn’t believe that was actually me in the photos. They looked better than I could have ever imagined!
How has your relationship with your body changed since your session?
I feel much more comfortable with myself and my insecurities.
What would you say to people who say they can't do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?
I would say to give it a try! Holly makes everything so easy and comfortable, it could be a great way to get over some of those feelings.

How did you hear about Holly Douglas Boudoir?
The first time was through a friend, but I've had a total of three sessions now.
Why did you choose Holly Douglas Boudoir for your session?
I've chosen Holly to do all of my sessions because she is so good at making me feel confident, yet relaxed enough to show my body - flaws and all. She is so good at helping you do these poses, and when you're finished, it doesn't even look like you.
What made you decide to take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session?
I've already had two other sessions, but this one was different for me since I did some nude photos. I'd never done those before. I wanted to do this particular boudoir session as a 15-year anniversary gift to my husband.
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
I was nervous for this shoot since I'd never done one with nude images before. I was the most nervous about showing more of my flaws than I show when I have lingerie on.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
I definitely became more comfortable after the shoot started, but I always do. Holly is wonderful about helping me relax and loosen up once we get started. I always have an amazing experience when I do a boudoir session with her!
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
My favorite part of the experience is always looking at the finished images and seeing how amazing Holly makes me look in photos compared to how I look in everyday life. I'm always amazed at how she manages to make me look so different, so beautiful, and so confident, even if I don't feel like that in real life.
How did you feel during your session?
I felt amazing and had a lot of fun with Holly, which I always do. I was relaxed after the first few photos were done, and I felt beautiful and confident.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
I was shocked and amazed that I was looking at pictures of myself.
How has your relationship with your body changed since your session?
I will still always have moments of low self esteem since I have a history of past trauma, but I definitely have more love for my body after my session than I did before. Holly is very good at building women up, especially during and after their session. She's very good at helping you erase any doubts you have about yourself.
What would you say to people who say they can't do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?
I would say to them that of course it's ok to be nervous, but don't let that stop you from taking this amazing opportunity to take gorgeous and sexy photos of yourself. Holly is a wonderful photographer who will do everything to make you feel confident, beautiful and sexy by the time she's finished with your session! Just take the plunge and you'll be glad you did!
Anything else you'd like to add?
I'm so very thankful for all three sessions I've had with Holly! I've loved every second of my boudoir sessions, and every photo I've chosen with Holly's help turned out amazing. The albums are gorgeous and the metal print is beautiful.
